Hi, Friends!  I’m back with the NYFW Day 4 recap!  On Day 4, I STRUGGLED to figure out what to wear.  I felt like I was running out of outfits!!  At least cool outfits or ones that would be flattering, since I had been spending my days eating to my heart’s content!  Fitted things were out! Originally I was planning to wear the above $20 skirt with an off the shoulder dress (the same one from this previous post), but I was in New York!! For New York Fashion Week!!! I decided I needed to step up my game!! So I started trying to figure out what else that I could wear that I packed, and I picked up this pinstriped top.  I LOVED how it looked paired with the skirt…it was a little bit different.   Probably a combination that wouldn’t have occurred to me back at home. I was stepping outside of my comfort zone a little bit…which I loved!! Then the gold-rimmed glasses!!!  I loved how it came together.  I will say that one trend I noticed while observing the street style of other fashionistas at all the shows was that the glasses look is trending.  It’s such a cool way to add uniqueness to your look.  I want to branch out and experiment with that more. They were a perfect complement to the look.  The look ended up being sort of a gothic geek chic look or something like that.  It was my absolute favorite look from the whole trip.

After I came up with my winning outfit, we headed to the Dan Liu SS18 runway show at 10 am.  I was excited because this was my first show at the main NYFW venue, the Skylight Clarkson.  In it, there are 3 Galleries.  Dan Liu took place in Gallery III, one of the smaller galleries.  If you are invited to a show, you are assigned either as Seated, Standing, or Priority Standing.  I’ve heard that these assignments are pretty random.  I saw some big-time bloggers in line with me.  If you are in Standing, you are the last to get in.  The key is to get there early especially if you have either of the standing assignments because the shows can fill up to capacity very quickly.  I was really excited because my assignment for this show was Priority Standing, so I was able to get into the show.  I loved the show!  It was colorful and fun!!!  There were a lot of looks with sleeves, which of course I enjoyed.  And check me out…I figured out how to embed a video onto my site!  This is the video I took from the finale of the Dan Liu show.  You can see the finale!  Pardon my questionable videography skills.

How fun were the feathers??  If you want a closer look at the designs, check them out here.

After the Dan Liu show, we explored some of the activities in the venue.  They had a Tresemme salon (which unfortunately I never got a chance to use…I made an appointment for another day, but was unable to make it) where stylists were making folks look fabulous for free!  Then, there was an E! Fashion lab where you could take pics, and it appears they really film E! News episodes for fashion week there too!  We saw Cat Saddler the following day.  They also had a coffee bar, where one could get coffee or juice.  They made a delicious lavender coffee there.  I believe there was also an art gallery and a Reebok area.  So much to see and explore!!  It was really cool that it was set up in a way that one could just hang out in between shows.

Having some fun at the E! Fashion Lab with my name in lights!

Our next show was at 3 pm, the Leanne Marshall SS18 runway show.  Leanne Marshall was a Project Runway winner!  We were assigned standing, so we didn’t make it in that one!!! 🙁 It was so packed that not even everyone who had priority standing was let in.  I saw pics from her show and it was truly beautiful! I was bummed to miss it!!  Check out the coverage of her show here.  These are two of my favorite sleeved looks from her show, but all the looks were truly breathtaking, and she showcased a lot of fun sleeves:

After that, we headed to Brooklyn for the Do Over Adidas party.  I’ll discuss it in my next post! That party was definitely one of the top highlights of my trip.  Enjoy your week, and thanks so much for reading!!
