Hi, Friends and Sleevenistas!!  It’s another Instagram Roundup!!  This post is a round-up of some of my Instagram looks, mostly for those of you that are not on Instagram, so that you can have an opportunity to shop my looks, if you’d like!  You can always go to the shop my Instagram page, but I still like to dedicate the occasional blog post to roundups.  So, instead of just focusing on fashion in today’s roundup, I wanted to try something different and also talk about some things I’m loving right now!

BREAKS – As you can see by my periodic disappearance from the blog and social media, I’ve become a huge fan lately of taking breaks, as necessary.  As per usual, things have been super busy for me.  For those of you that don’t know, I am a lawyer full-time and I work on the blog the rest of the time.  Blogging takes up more time and energy than one would think, so sometimes, I just need to take a break and focus on self-care and mental health and not put so much pressure on myself. Before, I used to push myself and would just burn out.  But this year, in particular, I’m learning to take breaks and not feel so bad about it.

LASHES – Y’all, I recently started getting lash extensions again, and I’ve been loving it!  I just think lashes make such a difference on my face.  Without help, I have sparse lashes that need mascara in order for them to even show up, so having lash extensions provides an instant boost in confidence for me.  Since I’m all about doing what makes me feel good in 2019, lash extensions are one of those things.  I’ve been going to Chic Lash Boutique here in Houston, and it’s been so great! All the lash techs I’ve had have been really nice and do a great job.  I did the full set on a weekend, but the refills I just get during my lunch hour. It’s super convenient!  They have locations in Montrose, Highland Village, and Memorial.  Check out my before and after!

HGTV –  Only recently did I discover the joy that is HGTV.  In fact, as I’m typing this post, I’m watching it right now! I started with my fellow Baylor alumni’s show, Fixer Upper, then I got hooked on Love It or List It, even though the couple’s disagreements over whether or not they want to stay in their home is so fake and it drives me CRAZY that some problem ALWAYS comes up in the home that keeps the couple from getting something they really want during their home renovation.  Now I’ve started watching Property Brothers!  I can just watch marathons of these shows all day.  Are there any other shows you guys love on HGTV?  I’m looking for recommendations.

CITY LIVING – For those of you that don’t know, I recently moved from the suburbs into the city to be closer to work.  I love living in the city and, probably most of all, I love having a short commute!!  I’ve talked on here in the past about my long commute, which was over an hour each way.  The things I miss about my long commute are being able to listen to whole podcast episodes, having long phone conversations with friends in the car, and listening to good audiobooks.  One thing I didn’t have the opportunity to take advantage of while living that commuter life was learning a new language or brushing up on an old one (like French, which I studied in school).  But hey, I’m not complaining because now I live 10 minutes from work, and I love being able to go home for lunch every day and I love that I can go home and change after work if an event pops up unexpectedly.

BOUTIQUES – Lately, some cool boutiques have been reaching out to me to work with them and it’s opening me up to a new world of shopping.  Y’all know how much I love shopping at Amazon and Target, but some of these boutiques also have super cute stuff at great prices.  The ones I’ve been working with lately are Red Dress Boutique and Amaryllis Apparel, and I recently met the owner of a curvy collection boutique, the CC Sutton Curvy Collection (I’m completely obsessed with this dress).  Pink Lily Boutique is also really cute and PinkBlush has great stuff for pregnant ladies.  Keep an eye out, you’ll be seeing me wearing more pieces from boutiques, and I’m thinking about doing a future post or posts about some of them.

I’m sure I’m loving more things, but these are the things that came to my mind while I was writing this post.

Here are some things coming up on the blog – I am working on my closet sale, personal styling biz, and Swimsuits with Sleeves 2019, so look out for these things soon!  Have a great week, and thanks so much for reading!
