Dress: Asos // Shoes: Similar // Clutch: Similar // Watch: Similar // Cuff: Similar // Earrings: Similar

Hey, Friends and Sleevenistas! This is the final episode of Sleeves and the City! Are you sad? Or maybe you’re thrilled that we can finally move on to fall styles. Lol. Whether you’re sad or thrilled, here is the recap of the rest of my trip!

You might be saying to yourself,  “Waitaminute, Nneka, weren’t we only on Day 2 of the recap? And weren’t you in New York for two more days after that?!” Well, yes, observant Friend, you are correct.  This is going to be like one of those TV shows that doesn’t quite know how to close out the series, so it throws a bunch of random stuff into a two-hour long finale after making you wait 2 weeks. Then after watching the finale, you wonder why you wasted your life watching the whole series no matter how good it was at one point.  Lol. So, here we go! This is going to be a long one! For those of you that like long posts, enjoy! For those that don’t, read some, then come back later and read the rest!

When we left off, I was headed to the Oxford Shows at Chelsea Pier.  Now that was a lovely venue.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get a lot of pics, but there were a lot of bright, open spaces with cool details. My friends left me, so I was on my own for the next show. I stayed for the promise of champagne after the show! The runway show itself was very interesting. There were multiple designers with looks that ranged from beautiful to unusual.  Here are some of the looks.  These pics were taken with my phone, which is why they are not the best. Lol.  The lighting for these runway shows makes it really difficult to capture a great pic.

After the show, I hung out with some friends I made last year at fashion week, and we sipped on complimentary champagne and wine.  It was bliss.   My fashionista friend, Patricia Darrabie. Danielle from Real Housewives of New Jersey! (She’s not my friend, but she was there. lol)My blogger friend, Nonee, that I met last year.Chelsea Pier was definitely my favorite venue.

I spent so much time enjoying life at Chelsea Pier, that I was super late for my next event, the LIKETOKNOW.IT party. I hurried back to the hotel, got dressed, and rushed to the party a solid two hours late.  The party was only 3 hours long. Smh. I wore a gorgeous chartreuse cape dress. It was a big hit.  I loved the monochromatic look. Fun fact, another girl was wearing my exact dress! We did a boomerang together, but I didn’t get a picture. My bad.  The party was a lot of fun.  Here are a couple of pics! You can also check out my Instagram for my video from this event.

Day 3 – Day 3 was a hot mess, a rainy hot mess. It rained for the entire day.  We headed to Brooklyn in the early afternoon to what we were hoping would be a day-o-fun! We started at the Essence Street Style Festival, then we were planning to head to the Adidas Doover party.

When we got to the Essence festival, the line was wrapped around the corner…in the rain.  So, we actually stood in line for about an hour to get into what we were hoping was an indoor venue. I was looking forward to a concert by Yemi Alade, a Nigerian artist, but I could hear her performing while we were trapped in line! Turns out, the concert was outdoors…in the rain! On the plus side, I was able to catch the end of her concert.  So, it turned out that while the concert was outside, there was an indoor portion of the event.  Inside, there was just a bunch of vendors and that was pretty much it. After so long in line in the cold and the rain.  We weren’t thrilled.  On the plus side, I met designer Kimberly Goldson from Project Runway! We decided to skip the Adidas party when we found out it was outdoors too. Not only was it raining, but it was also cold! So, that was basically the end of Day 3. We just headed back to the city, got dinner, then watched the Miss America pageant in the hotel.

Day 4 – It continued to rain on Day 4, but it was the day we were leaving. I didn’t feel like attending any shows in the rain. So, I did a shoot in the morning (this one), then packed, and had lunch with a hilarious YouTuber that I met a couple of months ago.  Her name is Chizi, you should subscribe to her channel HERE! Her vids are hilarious.

And that’s all folks! Thanks for following along for my Sleeves and the City minisodes recapping my NYFW 2018 trip! Have a great week, and thanks so much for reading!
