Hi Friends, I’m already back with a new post talking about my NYFW Day 2!!  Friday, September 8.  Here is the recap:

Day 2:  We got a late start.  After partying the previous night with Jessica’s Simpson’s daddy, we woke up late, and some of the girls no longer wanted to go to the morning show.  I insisted we try to make it to the first show since I didn’t get the opportunity to see any shows on Day 1.  I and two other girls hurried to get ready.  I threw on my all black look and my Ankara bomber jacket and leopard pumps, then headed over to the Gallery at the Dream Hotel to see the Galtiscopio SS18 Collection runway show.  But we didn’t get in!! 🙁  We got to the venue a bit late and the line was super long when we got there, so they cut off the line far before it was our turn.  Later we found out that Ray J was there and performed….that would have been interesting.

So after we were denied at Galtiscopia, we headed to another location to attend one of the Nolcha Shows, which showcases independent fashion designers.  We saw the All Comes from Nothing runway show.  My first NYFW runway show!!!! I was so excited.  It was a very interesting setup.  When we arrived, there was a live band that reminded me of something out of the Matrix. They were wearing all white and one of the guys had grey braids. We had some time before the show, so we took a few pics.  The show ended up being as interesting as the setup.  The designer, Eva Yiwei Xu, created a line that was contemporary and cool.  She was inspired by the Chinese philosophy of simplicity and minimalism. The show was filled with minimalist designs and a sleek color palette.  I loved it!  So far so good for my first show!

Pretending like I was seated in the front row….in real life, I was on the third row

The designs.  You can find more pics here: (I got the two show pics from the website because my pics weren’t great.  Next time, I’ll come to fashion week armed with a camera that’s perfect for photographing shows).

Then we headed back to the Gallery at the Dream for Vaishali SS18 Collection.  Her show was amazing, and I loved the venue!!  I did my first Instagram Live video for that show.  I was just in awe.  It was so different from the first show.  It felt more real to me.  The mood was set…the music was playing and the models started coming out.  I loved the detail on her designs.  Many of the pieces had a somewhat romantic feel, but the looks were also structured.  It was gorgeous.  At that show, I saw a few internet celebrities, like a  huge makeup blogger and some other fashion bloggers that I’ve admired.  Unfortunately, because I was busy doing the Instagram live video, I didn’t get any pictures!

I clearly got this picture from online of the designer, Vaishali Shadangule, and one of the models. You can check out other designs from her show here.

After the Vaishali show, we grabbed some lunch then went back to the hotel to change for the Style Collective party.  Style Collective is a platform for female bloggers/influencers to connect, grow, and learn how to be successful bloggers and entrepreneurs.  Oddly, I didn’t take many pics at the event, but it was a lot of fun.  It was outside on a terrace.  It was a chilly night, but I warmed myself up with some wine and food. 🙂  I even danced a little bit…if you know me, you know that’s a big deal.  At the party, I met so many different bloggers, some of whom I already followed.  It’s so cool to see folks that you follow online in real life!  I loved the networking.  I also met the founder of Style Collective, Annie Spano (pic below).

And that’s it for NYFW Day 2! Stay tuned for the rest of my NYFW recap!  Day 3 is likely coming to the blog on Sunday.  Day 3 was so much fun!! I met Olivia Palermo and went to Carrie Bradshaw’s house!  Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss it!  I hope you enjoyed it, and thank you so much for reading!!!

  1. We are sorry you missed Galtiscopio’s show. Shows at Clarkson and the Dream with IMG have to start no more than 20-25 minutes after the scheduled show time, so security makes us close the doors at a certain point. You were missed, but glad you made the Vaishali show! Thanks for supporting our designers. xo- The Riviere Agency Team
