Hi, Friends and Sleevenistas! Remember my big tv debut? I talked about it in this post, and you can watch it on YouTube here (I show up at about 4:15).  I modeled for Chico’s on a local tv show, and it was amazing!  I had so much fun with my fellow models, Adam Glassman from Oprah Magazine, and our Chico’s rep!  Not only did I have a blast, but I also loved my clothes!  One of the models had worked with Chico’s before, so she was a pro.  The rest of us were pretty much discovering Chico’s for the first time.  It wasn’t that we weren’t aware that Chico’s existed, we just weren’t aware that they have so many wonderful clothes that would appeal to different generations of women.  Originally, I thought Chico’s was more geared towards women my mother’s or grandmother’s ages.   But that experience really opened my eyes to the reality that there are cute things for me there too!

The one thing I really love about Chico’s, and other stores like it, since they do appeal to women of a certain age, is that the clothes are classic and flattering.  As you may have noticed, I love classic shapes. I often mix fun prints and colors, but I gravitate towards classic shapes, and these days, I tend to specifically look for pieces that flatter!  I mean…how gorgeous are all the pieces in this post?! Amazing, right?  I truly love all of them and have worn these pieces in my everyday life and will continue to do so.  They are especially perfect for work.

Another thing I love about Chico’s is the sizing.  I don’t know if they did it to make women feel good about themselves, but if so, it’s working.  I’m a size 1 or 1.5 at Chico’s!  So, I get to pretend like I’m skinny! lol.  Their sizes range from 000 to 4.  A size 1 is an 8/10 and a 1.5 is a 10.  Lately, I’ve increased in size to a 12 in most places (working on this in 2019, y’all! lol), but at Chico’s, I’m still a solid 10.  Keep that in mind when you’re shopping.  I really want to take some time to highlight each piece for you and elaborate on why I like them.  I hand-selected all of these pieces.  They weren’t chosen for me.  Also, more good news.  Basically, EVERYTHING IS ON SALE RIGHT NOW!!  And I think the sale is lasting till the 12th, so don’t wait too long!  Let me give you the gift of Shoprunner for free 2-day shipping (Get it here).  So, here’s what I love about each piece:

The leopard coat! – I truly love this coat.  It’s a faux fur, so it’s so soft.  It also fits really well.  I’ve been wearing it a lot lately (like here).  I’ve said several times on this blog that leopard is a neutral, and I stand by that! This coat will go with just about anything in your closet, and right now it’s on sale for under $85!

Red slimming trousers – These pants are super comfortable and are on sale right now for $23. Yes, that’s correct. $23!  They also have slimming technology, so they’re flattering too.  And you know I love a good pop of color!

Merlot loop neck blouse – This blouse is so beautiful and classic.  It adds polish to my wardrobe and is such a great, rich color for this time of year.  It’s also on sale!

Striped mock neck blouse – I love this top. It’s really soft and fits really well.  It’s not on sale, but you can’t go wrong with a classic black and white striped top.

The feather vest – I love this vest and it pairs so well with many different looks. It’s currently on sale, so a great buy!  I paired the vest in two ways in this post. First, with the polka dot pants, then with the red pants!  Would you rock a feather vest?

A reversible dress! – I was blown away when I saw this dress.  2 dresses in 1?! Yes, please!  I love that I can wear the red dress as is or reverse it to a dress with a cool print.  So fun! And on sale right now for under $50!

The polka dot pants! – Ok, I love these pants, y’all.  The one thing that really surprised me about them is that they are pull-on pants! There’s no zipper.  They are almost like thick leggings, which makes them super comfortable, but I love that they have structure and are flattering like a traditional pant.  And right now they’re on sale for under $40!

The ruffle sleeve blouse – This is the blouse I received when I modeled for Chico’s.  If you saw the tv segment, then you saw that it was paired with the feather vest there too. It’s so pretty and comfortable. And it’s versatile!  I wore it to work on the day we shot the tv segment, then I wore it to a party that night and then again when I went to my law school reunion. It’s also on sale for under $53 from $125!
