Hi, Friends!  It’s appropriate that today is woman crush Wednesday (#wcw) because I have a woman crush on Joy Egbejimba, the creator and designer behind the Nuciano brand.   She designed the gorgeous bag that I’m carrying above.  The construction of the bag is perfect, and I love the vibrant orange color.  I was first introduced to Joy while I was in New York for fashion week.  She was in New York to showcase her designs on the runway.  Joy and I have kept in touch since, and when she told me her new collection was launching on February 3, I wanted to help spread the word about this special brand.

“Nuciano is about every woman looking her best and making a statement to that fact. Every bag in a lady’s closet serves a different need and occasion. It depends on how a woman feels, what look she is going for at a particular time, and the event. At Nuciano, we know that first impressions matter a lot. We go to great lengths to ensure that the engineering quality and finishing touches in our products help you express yourself, Nuciano style.”

Joy named Nuciano after her grandmother, who raised her to be fearless and taught her to follow her dreams and achieve her goals.  Joy’s brand reflects this background of empowerment.  Nuciano was created to empower women and young girls.  Joy empowers women to look and feel their best by designing beautiful, high-quality pieces that are affordable.  She also created Nuciano Scholars, a program that helps educate young girls in Nigeria.  Joy believes that when you raise a girl, you raise an entire community.  Isn’t that so powerful?  And it’s true.  As such, 5% of all Nuciano proceeds goes to furthering educational opportunities for girls from poor homes in Nigeria who want to go to college.  Joy wants to inspire and empower girls to get an education so that they can achieve their dreams, like she has.

Joy is an inspiration.  Find out more about her brand and new collection in my next post.  Stay tuned!  Until then, have a great week, and thanks so much for reading!
